Cast iron and non-ferrous metals foundry

The Foundry is one of the most advanced divisions of the Hydro-Vacuum S.A. pump factory. Our cast iron foundry offers a wide range of castings, and the plant is operated both for the needs of the company and those of a quickly growing group of customers. The foundry provides its services to companies from over 30 countries around the world, including many based in the EU.

The Hydro-Vacuum S.A. foundry continues a tradition stretching back to 1862, when the "Józef Herzfeld and Karol Victorius, Iron Foundry and Enamel Shop in Grudziądz" (a Pomeranian Foundry and Enamel Shop) was founded.

In year 2009 began a thorough modernization of the foundry. An automatic Loramatic line was purchased to be used in cooperation with a Fomet pouring furnace, allowing the use of nitrogen atmospheres to produce spheroidal cast iron. Furthermore, energy-efficient furnaces were installed to achieve a significant reduction in power consumption.

During the modernization of the Foundry, a great deal of attention was devoted to environmental protection. Among the many changes made was the installation of a modern dust collector system.

The comprehensive service of the Hydro-Vacuum S.A. Foundry is based on close cooperation with the customer, starting from the casting design stage. Later comes modelling, moulding, machining and painting. Production management is based on the Integrated Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Management System, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and PN-N-18001:2004 standards.
